King's Mead during World War II
The school moved to Moreton House, Bideford, Devon, the home of Sir Hugh Stutely, during the second world war. Sir Hugh moved into the lodge and looked after those boys who were too young to be boarders at the school. The house was much later sold and became Grenville College.
